About

Whether you are intolerant to gluten, milk or egg, you are looking for a tasty vegan alternative or you are curious to know more about a healthy way of eating, you will see that there are endless possibilities. I would love to take you on my colorful journey.

When I started to suffer from bloating and painful stomach cramps more and more often, I could feel that my way of eating was not working for me. Deep down I wanted to eat ‘differently’, but I did not know how or what to change, and therefore did nothing.

It was only until my abdominal aches spiked some time ago and I had to start listening to my body. I turned out to be intolerant for milk, eggs, almonds, sunflower seeds, gluten, and many other foods.

I was inspired to teach myself a different way of cooking. It was also necessary: when I looked in the supermarket for a milk alternative, it was often enriched with sunflower oil (made from sunflower seeds). Gluten-free bread often contained nuts or eggs, and there was certainly no gluten-, milk- and egg-free alternative to cake and cookies. Besides, I wanted to tackle my abdominal complaints in the healthiest way possible and therefore temporarily removed refined sugars and other additives from the menu.

Frangipane, apple pie, chocolate bar or a plant-based version of milk or ice cream, it doesn’t matter: I make anything that I’m craving.

Throughout this entire process I became aware of the impact of nutrition on our body and I now know which nutrition suits me. For example, I switched from a bread to a fruit breakfast and I have more energy. It is part of my path to more ‘body-conscious’ choices.

I started baking, from scratch, to be able to enjoy all those treats again in a way that suits my body. Frangipane, apple pie, chocolate bar or a plant-based version of milk or ice cream, it doesn’t matter: I make anything that I’m craving.

I started taking photos of my creations and soon the Instagram account “Tartelitha” was born to share photos and show how beautiful gluten-, dairy- and egg-free food can look. I also wanted to share my knowledge and inspire others. Below you will find some of my first food photos.

In the meantime, I make colorful breakfasts, breakfast boxes and desserts to order. Whether or not you need to eat gluten-, milk-, lactose-, egg-, nut- or refined sugar-free, I make items tailored to your needs. You will be able to taste my items at Atelier P. in Meldert soon, more information about this will follow later.

In addition to photos, I share tips about books and products via social media. I also give workshops and develop recipes for magazines.

I strive for an inclusive way of eating: we want to be able to enjoy good food together!

Warm regards,
Talitha from Tartelitha
